musicians
in
Bjørn
Alterhaug
Quintet
are
among
the
leading
musicians
within
the
 genre
of
jazz
and
they
are
closely
involved
with
jazz
education
in
the
Department
of
Music
at
 NTNU
(Norwegian
University
of
Science
and
Technology)
in
Trondheim,
Norway:
John
Pål
 Inderberg
and
Bjørn
Alterhaug
as
professors,
Vigleik
Storaas
both
as
a
student
and
a
lecturer,
 and
Frode
Nymo
and
Erik
Nylander
as
former
students.
 Since
the
late
1960s
Bjørn
Alterhaug
has
lead
a
number
of
different
combos
bearing
his
 name,
and
he
has
accompanied
many
jazz
musicians
from
all
over
the
world.
These
include
 Ben
Webster,
Lee
Konitz,
Chet
Baker,
Joe
Henderson,
Sheila
Jordan
and
others.
He
has
 contributed
to
numerous
LPs,
CDs
and
written
about
250
compositions
for
different
 instrumental
combinations
and
occasions.
